Dry Heat Wheat

This is a recipe from my local brew store Brewers Connection. They recommended it as a simple Hefe. So far its been pretty easy, so we'll see how it turns out. ;)

  1. 15:00 Get setup and start mixing the wheat in with the RO water
  2. 15:10 Start up the burner while still mixing
  3. 15:30 Starts to boil, add 1/2 oz of hops and start 45 minute timer
  4. 16:00 Activate yeast packet (probably should have done this earlier)
  5. 16:15 Add other 1/2 oz of hops, start 15 minute timer
  6. 16:30 Stop burner and finish sanitizing everything
  7. 16:45 Took sample for SG and pitched yeast
  8. 16:50 Sample @ 77° SG=1.050 + .002 for temp = 1.052
  9. 17:00 Moved fermenting bucket to the bathtub with water
  10. March 12, 2006
  11. 17:00 Started Racking
  12. 17:20 Started Bottling
  13. 17:30 Added 3 small eye droppers worth of cherry syrup for flavoring
  14. 17:35 Bottled last of bottles with cherry flavoring
  15. 17:40 Cleaned and boxed bottles
  16. 17:45 Sample @ 60° FG=1.012
  17. 17:45 7% - 2% = 5% abv
  18. 17:50 All cleaned up and waiting impatiently for the next week
